Academic Plan
To help you get the most out of your GCU experience, GCU offers support, services, and resources that enhance your academic pursuits. Find your major and program on the following website https://www.gcu.edu/degree-programs and complete the table below:
In which program of study are you enrolled, or plan to enroll? Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN)
What are some of the program core courses you are looking forward to taking and why? NRS-420 Health Assessment; NRS-425 Health Promotion and Population Health; NRS-450 Nursing Informatics; NRS-415 Nursing Leadership and Interprofessional Collaboration
Which courses do you anticipate being the most challenging? Explain why. NRS-450 Nursing Informatics This Course is most challenging for me, because the course emphasizes principles of system analysis and information flow within an organization. Content emphasizes identification of organizational problems, establishment of user priorities, and the use of automated design to address patient care system requirements.
Spiritual Plan
GCU is committed to integrating faith across all aspects of the GCU community. This stems from GCU’s mission to educate students from a Christian perspective and to prepare them for careers that honor God while serving others. Read about GCU’s “One Foundation,” including the “Ethical Positions Statement” and “Doctrinal Statement” located at https://students.gcu.edu/one-foundation-grand-canyon-university. Then watch the video “One Foundation: Integration of Faith, Learning, and Work” located at the bottom of the page at https://www.gcu.edu/why-gcu/christian-identity-and-mission.
What did you take away from the readings and video? How can you apply this to your experience while at GCU? (50-100 words) At GCU, the Foundation is encouraging the students to find their purpose and state student’s view by adopting integrating notable Christian world view. When I personally took from the “GCU One Foundation” video is that I felt very welcomed into this campus. Christianity is big part of my life. The GCU faith combined foundation is developing Christian Faith, Christ focus curriculum, and faith-based service. GCU is granting an opportunity to build students their faith and an opportunity of faith to bring into the classroom. I wish I could attain their different ministries, chapels, and life groups. GCU makes me also really liked the survey and how GCU included the student’s perspective about it.
