Stamp Act congress resolution
What are the colonists’ chief arguments against the stamp act?
This act in America led to protests where colonists claimed that there should be no taxation, especially without their representation. This typically went against the Great Britain constitution, forcing them to pay taxes, and representation in the parliament had not agreed to the payment. They claimed that they were to be taxed by only their representative assemblies, and colonists were usually insistent that such an act was unconstitutional and thus resorted to intimidating the collectors until they resigned through mob violence.
