Sample Answer for NRS 465 Based on your assessment, identify two internal and two external stakeholders Topic 5 DQ 1
Stakeholder support is a critical component of attaining set goals for an evidence-based practice project in the selected care setting. Internal and external stakeholders provide support through understanding the proposed EBP project, resource allocation, and expertise (Candon et al., 2022). The two internal stakeholders in the project include organizational administrative staff and the healthcare providers like physicians and therapists. The administrative staff includes managers, executives, and other people who play critical roles in the facility. Their support is essential as they make strategic decisions, allocate resources, and oversight the implementation of the proposed project. The healthcare providers include physicians, nurses, and other healthcare workers who offer direct patient care. Their support is critical as they will be the ones to implement the changes in the facility (Petkovic et al., 2020). These stakeholders also offer valuable insights into the feasibility and practicality of the proposed intervention, especially its effectiveness.
External stakeholders in this case include patient and their families and regulatory entities at state and federal levels. Patients and their families’ support is important since they are the ultimate beneficiaries of the proposed intervention to improve the quality of care. Their feedback offers valuable insights into the effectiveness of the proposed intervention. Regulatory entities at state and federal levels are government agencies and professional bodies whose role is to oversight the health industry and its players (Triplett et al., 2022). Their support is essential since they develop and mandate organizations to follow set standards and regulations to attain healthcare goals.
Nurses possess unique attributes that allow them to secure stakeholder support in developing inter-professional relationships. A unique strength to help secure support from stakeholders is effective collaboration and coordination through better communication. Collaboration and coordination demonstrate one’s readiness to work in teams and integrate diverse perspectives and ideas into the proposed EBP to meet its goals (Candon et al., 2022). Using effective communication ensures that one builds trust and confidence from all stakeholders for better collaboration.
