Re: Topic 5 DQ 1

Effective communication is crucial during the process of change and change vision. Good communication fosters understanding, aligns the organization from top to bottom, and motivates employees (Merrell, 2012). Stakeholders need to understand the vision and strategy for implementing the change. Those responsible for implementing the change, known as implementers, have a responsibility to ensure that all stakeholders fully understand the change and the strategy being used. Stakeholders, particularly employees, are often seen as recipients of implementers’ communication and tend to react to communication about change efforts (Lewis, 2011). Successful communication addresses vision and strategies and builds trust and credibility with stakeholders. This trust and credibility are important not only for those who already support the change plan but also for those who are not fully supportive and have concerns. Communicating transparently with these stakeholders helps build trust and shows that their views are valued. Initiating a conversation may demonstrate that you are interested in their perspective and willing to listen to their concerns (Karten, 2009). It’s important to recognize that not every stakeholder has the same viewpoint. Effective communication conveys the different perspectives and interests of stakeholders. Different communication channels should be used to accommodate the diversity of the audience. Some stakeholders respond to communication through team meetings, emails, town hall meetings, and one-on-one conversations. Successful communication is essential for effectively conveying the vision to stakeholders and increasing the success of change implementation and goal achievement.  Effective communication is essential; without it, the process of implementing change cannot be executed.
