To achieve an accreditation from a third-party organization helps set the high standards that is a time-consuming process. However, the process may be long, it is essential for an organization to be accredited. It means that the health care organization meets well above the minimum standards, and shows it is a high quality of care organization. Accreditation is voluntary most often. Some accreditations are required for certain licenses. This paper will look at the various accreditation programs and their requirements. It will assess the Joint Commission Standards with other accreditation organizations to provide a summary brief.
